Google Analytics is one of the best free reporting tools.

One of the first things that need to be done is to evaluate what is driving traffic to your online store to monitor your SEO efforts.  Once your store is setup, you need to add the free module for Google Analytics available on the Zen Cart site .

Carefully follow the instructions, in the read me. Particularly pay attention to the eCommerce setup instructions, this will add advanced SEO reporting statics for conversions. These stats can later be used to determine which ad campaigns are converting, as well as traffic sources for you conversions.

Many Small Business online store owners forget to use the feature in Zen Cart for Meta Tags. Zen Cart does a great job of SEO, but you can use “long tail keywords”  and more effective descriptions to obtain higher ranking in the search engines for your products.

  1. In the admin go to Catalog >Categories / Products
  2. Select your Category
  3. In the list of products the icon on the left is for meta tags select that icon
  4. Here you will be able to modify the title, description and keyword meta data
