Many people tout Joomla and Content management systems in general, as the ultimate solution for SEO – Search engine Optimizations. Ease of updating, etc

When Deploying a Content Management System, the initial setup of Joomla must ensure the proper SEO considerations are in place to ensure the first Google search and indexing are successful. In addition the Alias setting is very important for you SEO or placement in the search engines.

As an example should you setup Joomla and load all the content, Google will search you and you will be left with indexing such as http://www.domainname.com/indez.php?junk2764786846248.html, which is not conducive to a successful SEO strategy.

Ensure you Web Developer is familiar with a Joomla Setup as well as the settings for SEO friendly Urls and Apache Mod Rewrites. otherwise, you will spend more time and effort replacing the useless information indexed by the search engines then you will promoting your Small Business on the Web.

Joomla/Virturemart eCommerce overview | George Susini

George Susini -  Joomla is a content management system, that is open source and free. Virtue mart is a robust eCommerce add on module system for Joomla. Both must be running for this type of store to operate. Joomla presents a very different type of storefront then Zen Cart. Content management systems allow the Small Business owner to update the content on their website without the need for the Web Designer. This type of eCommerce system can effectively be used to produce content that attract perspective buyers in the research phase of their buying decision and also if sending you users directly to the store to buy is not the way you want to present your products.

There are many build in feature or add on modules for Joomla Virtuemart that can easily be installed to enhance the web site, you can add specials of the week for instance that appear on your front-page.

Virtuemart includes all the features expected from an eCommerce online store such as shipping, order management and cross-selling that make this a very robust system. With all the free add-on modules , customization cost are kept to a minimum. Currently we , at Raleigh Tech- George Susini,  are working on two such eCommerce sites that will be fully functional by mid-month.
