Search Engine tool such as Google Webmaster tools require an XML sitemap. Given the dynamic nature of Joomla, it is almost impossible to create a sitemap every-time you updated you site with a new article. The Solution is a free module from the Joomla site called Xmap.

Installed like any other module in Joomla, Xmap allows you to create a map of you site based on your menu’s. Every time your menu is updated you sitemap is automatically updated. Google will then search the index.php string you add to Webmaster tolls and updat the Map.

In addition, you have the option to exclude menus and create an HTML sitmap as well. There is also some statistical infomation and control over  the prioritys and change frequency.
